中国水利水电建设集团公司，简称：中国水电建设集团公司，缩写：SHC。
　　The full name of the Corporation is SINOHYDRO CORPORATION, in its short version as "SINOHYDRO", abbreviated as "SHC".

　　集团公司是经国务院批准，在原中国水利水电工程总公司基础上组建的国有企业。集团公司具有独立的企业法人资格，其合法权益和经营活动受到国家法律保护。
　　The Corporation is a state-owned enterprise established on the basis of former China National Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering Corporation (CWHEC in short) with due approval of the State Council. The Corporation has full capacity of an independent enterprise legal person, and its legitimate interests and business operation shall be protected by State law.

　　集团公司是我国跨国经营的特大型综合性工程建设企业，注册资本为人民币22亿元;拥有23个全资子公司，2个控股企业;资产总额144亿元；员工12余万人。公司具有国家施工总承包一级企业资质、AAA级信用等级、对外工程承包经营权、进出口贸易权，被中华人民共和国商务部列为重点支持的大型外经企业。
　　The Corporation is an extra-large scale engineering and construction enterprise which deals with business both inside China and overseas, with registered capital of RMB 2.2 Billion, owning 23 whole owned subsidiary companies and 2 holding companies, with total assets of RMB 14.4 Billion and total staff of more than 120,000 persons. The Corporation possesses Top-Grade Qualification for general contracting of civil engineering and construction and related works in China, "AAA" Credit Rank and Qualification for overseas contracting and import & export services, and the Corporation has been listed as one of the most importantly supported and assisted large Enterprises with qualification for overseas contracting and import & export services by Ministry of Commerce, P.R. China.

　　作为中国水利水电建设的主力军，集团公司始终站在中国水利水电建设的最前沿，始终站在中国水电建设体制改革的最前沿，始终站在中国水电建设与国际接轨的最前沿，取得了世人瞩目的业绩。从50年代开始，集团公司先后承建了国内75%的大中型水电站和水利枢纽工程，先后建成大中型水电站近百座，其中100万千瓦以上的水电站15座，装机总规模4000余万千瓦，为中国常规水电站装机容量、在建规模位居世界第一做出了突出的贡献。目前，集团公司在国内的在建工程包括三峡、龙滩、小湾等特大型、大型水利水电工程达20余项。
　　As the main force for construction of water resources and hydropower projects in China, the Corporation has always been in the frontline of water resources and hydropower sector in China, and has achieved outstanding success. Since 1950s, the Corporation has undertaken 75% large and medium scale hydropower stations and multi-purpose dam projects in China, and has completed around 100 large and medium scale hydropower stations with total installed capacity of more than 40,000 MW, including 15 large-scale hydropower stations with installed capacity of more than 1,000 MW of each. The Corporation has made extraordinary contribution for China ranked as No.1 in the world in the field of installed capacity and scale under construction of hydropower stations. At present, the Corporation's projects under construction inside China include: Three Gorges Hydropower Station project, Longtan Hydropower Station project, Xiaowan Hydropower Station project etc, total more than 20 extra-large and large scale water resources and hydropower projects.

经营范围
　　根据多元化发展战略，集团公司的业务范围除水电工程总承包外，还将业务扩展到各类土木工程、市政工程、海事工程的设计、施工、机械设备和金属结构制造安装等，核心竞争力进一步得到扩展和增强，形成了年完成土石方开挖15000万立方米、混凝土浇注1500万立方米、发电机组安装1000万千瓦、钢结构制作安装15万吨的综合施工能力。
　　According to the multi-areas development strategy, the Corporation has expanded its business to engineering and construction of all kinds of civil works, municipal and public works, marine works, dredging and reclamation works as well as manufacture and installation of hydraulic steelworks and electro-mechanical equipment, with the major annual capacity of 150 million m3 in earth and rock works, 15 million m3 in concrete production and placement, 10,000 MW in installation of generating units, and 150,000 tons in manufacture and erection of hydraulic steelworks.

　　近几年，集团公司积极贯彻党中央"走出去"战略，大力开拓国际市场。1999年以来的四年时间里，集团公司自主签约国际工程承包合同已达36个，累计对外签约合同额已经突破17亿美元，完成营业额4.8亿美元。在全球最大225家国际承包商排名中，1999年和2000年，集团公司连续两年排在第136位；2001年上升至128位（位列上榜中国公司的第20位）。2002年，公司以1.71亿美元的国外营业额，4亿美元的中标合同额，首次闯进全球225家最大国际承包商百强行列，位居第89位。
In recent years, the Corporation has been active in overseas construction market. Since 1999, the Corporation has been awarded 36 overseas contracts with total value of more than USD 1.7 Billion and has achieved the total turnover of USD 480 Million in this market. In 1999 and 2000, the Corporation ranked as No. 136 of ENR Top 225 Contractors consecutively; in 2001, the Corporation ranked as No. 128 of ENR Top 225 Contractors (No. 20 of Chinese companies of ENR Top 225 Contractors). In 2002, the Corporation ranked as No.89 of ENR Top 225 Contractors with overseas turnover of USD 171 Million and awarded overseas contract value of USD 400 Million.

　　2003年，集团公司自主对外签约7.5亿美圆，为上年度的188%，国外完成营业额2.5亿美圆，双双创历史新高。
　　In 2003, the Corporation was warded the overseas contracts with value of USD 750 Million, 188% of last year, and has achieved the overseas turnover of USD 250 Million.

　　集团公司1999年进入泰国工程承包市场，先后与Vichitbhan Construction Co., Ltd. 和 Krung Thon Engineers Co,. Ltd. 以及 China Electric Power Technology Import & Export Corporation组成联营体CCVK参与了塔丹项目的实施；和See Sang Kornyotah (1979) Co., Ltd.组成联营体参与美水大坝工程的实施。两个项目业主为农合部皇家灌溉厅，均是在泰国首次采用碾压砼筑坝技术，其中塔丹项目为目前世界上在建的体积最大的RCC坝。美水项目已于2002年12月完工，质量优良。塔丹项目将于2004年年底竣工。
　　In 1999, the Corporation entered into two Joint Venture Agreements with Vichitbhan Construction Co., Ltd. and Krung Thon Engineers Co,. Ltd. as well as China Electric Power Technology Import & Export Corporation (JV CCVK in short) for the construction of Khlong Tha Dan Dam Project and with See Sang Kornyotah (1979) Co., Ltd. (JV SC in short) for the construction of Mae Suai Dam Project respectively, both contracts were successively awarded by the Royal Irrigation Department (RID), Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Thailand. Either the Khlong Tha Dan Dam Project or the Mae Suai Dam Project is formally introduced the application of roller compacted concrete (RCC) techniques in Thailand for the first time, especially the Khlong Tha Dan Dam Project is the biggest project for its RCC quantity in the world so far. Mae Suai Dam Project was completed with excellent quality in Dec 2002, and Khlong Tha Dan Dam Project will be completed in the end of 2004.
